Camp
Braveheart will be held at
Camp
Timpouchee in
Niceville, FL from July 17 thru July 20th.
Camp
Braveheart is held in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee and
South Carolina throughout each year. The camp is for children from ages 7 to 14 who live in the area, are in mourning, need love and support, need time to heal and like to laugh and play.
The focus of
Camp
Braveheart, put on by Hospice, is on healing. The children at this camp can remember and honor the people they have lost, and start to develop the tools they need to move on without them.
This is a camp offered at no charge. The camp is a safe haven for children who are struggling with the difficult emotions that accompany the bereavement process. The camp is run by clinical experts who understand the healing process. They lead therapeutic groups that help the children process their questions and feelings about loss in a healthy, constructive way. By expressing themselves, being heard and meeting others their age with similar situations, the children begin to recognize that they are not alone. The indoor and outdoor activities for the children include arts and crafts, boating and tubing, canoeing, field games, fishing, swimming, wall climbing and more.
If you know a child who could benefit from a weekend at
Camp
Braveheart , please go to www.gentiva.com/hospice to download an application or call Parrothead Club Member Darla Eddington at 850-642-1122. If Darla is not available, contact Frank Dole at Emerald Coast Hospice at 850-862-1069.
This is one of our club member's favorite PHlockings - come check out why!
