Following are the Celebrity Judges for our 2010 Chili Cook Off to benefit Relay for Life:
City of Destin Mayor Craig Barker Craig Barker was elected as Mayor of the City of Destin, 2002, then re-elected in 2006. His term expires in 2010. He was awarded Mayor of the Year for the entire State of Florida, 2008 - 2009. This honor is awarded based on initiative, integrity, vision, innovation, leadership, and commitment.
He was named Best Politician by Emerald Coast Magazine, 2003 and one of America’s 25 Most Powerful People in Aquatics by Aquatics International Magazine, 2008. He received the inaugural Ann Gibson Community Service Award from the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, 2005. Captain Josh, Trop-Rock Entertainer Captain Josh is the Gigmasters 2007 & 2008 Rising Star Award Winner of The Most Booked Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band in North America. Captain Josh specializes in Beach/Country/Pop music along with a few oldies, light rock, Trop-Rock and sing-a-longs. His main focus is on Jimmy Buffett and all of his country recording buddies such as Alan, Toby, Lyle, George, Kenny, Clint, Randy, Garth, Van, J.T. etc.
Aimee Shaffer News Director/Public Service Director Aimee Shaffer is celebrating twenty years as a radio/tv broadcaster, with the last two and-a-half as the Public Service Director/News Director at Fly 92.1; Wave 102.1; Mix 103.1; and Highway 98.1, the Qantum Radio stations in Destin. Shaffer arrived on the Emerald Coast almost 14 years ago from Virginia Beach, Virginia, where she got her start as an "on air talent". Since moving to the Sunshine State, she has been very active as a volunteer for over two dozen non-profit agencies and organizations. You'll find Shaffer emceeing at lots of local events! In addition to her busy radio schedule, Shaffer also owns her own professional in-home pet-sitting service, "Aimee's Animal Magnetism", where she offers quality, loving care to your pets in your home while you go on vacation, TDY, or need emergency assistance when there's a crisis in your life. Shelly Miller Volunteer Extraordinaire I've been relaying for over 13 years. I've been a participant, a survivor, a team captain, a committee member, multiple steering committee chairs including Event Chair and now I'm on the Relay Operating committee. I'm a graduate of VLI (volunteer leadership institute) I'm vice chair on the ACS board. Relay is my passion. I talk about Relay and the ACS everyday at my job. My goal is to try and educate every patient that comes into my room about the many wonderful things the ACS can and is doing to beat this ugly disease. I'm not afraid to put on a crazy purple wig and eyelashes if it means we can raise one more dollar to fight back against cancer.

David Smith Fudpucker's Beachside Bar & Grill David Smith is the founder and President of Crazy Mother Pucker’s Sauce Company. Crazy Mother Pucker’s has a line of 7 hot sauces and 2 BBQ sauces which are sold nationally. David is also the marketing director and a partner of Fudpucker’s Beachside Bar & Grill in Destin, Florida.
ALTERNATE JUDGE We will also choose an Alternate Judge from members interested in this position. To "apply" for the Alternate Judge position, you will need to submit your name the day of the event (by 3:30 p.m.) and should the need arise for an Alternate Judge, a name will be drawn prior to the event.
